About DACO, Inc.
The Doula Association of Central Oklahoma, Inc. (DACO) is an association of doulas in the central area of the state of Oklahoma. The purpose of our association is to improve the quality of maternity care and health of mothers and newborn babies by providing physical, emotional, and informational support for women during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum, and by furthering the profession of Labor Support. We work to actively and effectively increase the number of trained doulas and increase communication for doulas. Our goal is to enhance the role of the doula in families, communities, and health care systems in Oklahoma.
DACO Inc. was formed in 1998 in response to the growing need for labor support in central Oklahoma. We are incorporated and registered as a non-profit organization since June 2004. DACO Inc. members are a diverse group of Doulas and supporters, most of whom have completed training with DONA International, the premier Doula training Organization in North America.
There are currently two kinds of doulas in our membership, Birth Doulas and Postpartum Doulas. Some doulas will provide one service, while other doulas offer both services.
